Collaging Countries is an enrichment that allows students to learn about other countries while creating memorable collages to show what they learned. At the Latino Studies Academy, Collaging Countries can focus on countries in Latin America. A one-time template can be created, and the countries can change each week.

The first week can focus on introduction to Latin America as a whole.
Students can make passports, make maps, and learn about overall geography.

During the next seven weeks, students can learn about specific countries. List of countries in Latin America include:
Argentina
Bolivia
Brazil
Chile
Colombia
Ecuador
French Guiana
Guyana
Paraguay
Peru
Surinam
Uruguay
Venezuela
Belize
Costa Rica
El Salvador
Guatemala
Honduras
Mexico
Panama
Nicaragua
Puerto Rico
Dominican Republic

You can do one country each week: Have students research on the country in the computer lab, and do the response activities. The next day, students can create a collage.

Possible google searches to help create the response activities: lesson plans latino studies; lesson plans mexico; lesson plans central america; etc.
